A Good Start

Woot! I feel better glad I took a break yesterday I feel ready to turn on the rant and go to town now. While I was outside talking to some friends some funny stuff came up and I want to share some of the comments we were shooting around, much to the chagrin of the bystanders. Don’t you hate it when you want to laugh but you know it’s just not socially acceptable to laugh at the topic? I love being me; I don’t worry too much about social acceptability.

So, Cheney shot a lawyer…. We should have more VPs just like him. I hear there is an uproar in the media about the White House not notifying the press of this incident and I think to myself “the obituaries need attention too” and “yeah they agree with me”. If I were Cheney I would have replied with “I didn’t tell you guys because it’s not time to campaign yet”. Do we have a medal for the actions of a Good Samaritan? We should, and he should get one. So this is a cold view of the situation, *shrug* I just don’t see the issue here. To take this a step further, and make myself look even more like a cold hearted bastard, he (the guy that got shot) was not that bright. I mean come on, really; if you are out with 6+ guys all carrying and shooting guns wouldn’t you make sure you weren’t between them and whatever they are shooting at? As I understand it he was returning from retrieving a bird he apparently shot, now you have to realize that if the bird fell out that way obviously someone may be shooting in that same direction (he had apparently shot that direction right?), and it may, at least, be a good idea to announce your presence if you are in that general vicinity. “But hey we all make mistakes” you say? Well when guns and hunters are involved that is the result of a mistake like that… you get shot. I say “Good Job Cheney!” One less dumb-ass, and a lawyer to boot, to worry about, you can’t beat the 2 birds with one stone aspect of this.

What do you call 1000 lawyers at the bottom of a lake?

A good start.

But seriously… accidents happen and politicians are not infallible… what world are you living in that you can even conceive such a thing (politician=infallible?!?!)? People do stupid things and politicians… well I don’t have a very high opinion of politicians; they are near the bottom of my “people I want to associate with” list right above lawyers. Do I wish them or lawyers dead? No of course not. Do I mourn their personal tragedies? Nope.

Closing though; cut the man some slack, the court of public opinion is fickle, one minute we make a mistake the next we are ridiculing someone else’s error in judgment. I don’t like politicians and I can rant on their conscious efforts all day, but damn get just a little realistic, shit happens.

"Save a Bird Shoot a Lawyer?"

Yeah, I thought it was witty too. I by no means am defending the dipshit with the gun or the dipshit on the other end of the gun. BUT, if somone I actually like scurry's off through the bushes heading that way I don't think I'm going to point my gun in the direction and fire...hold on I'm making my hunting partners list now. Over all I think both parties are responsible in some way but this issue shouldn't be blown out of proportion, just because it's the VP of the country. You have guns being fired, and people wondering around in the bushes, it's bound to happen sooner or later no matter how careful you all are.

I've got to say, There are too many BIGGER issues to press on Cheney than some ridiculous accident like this. I'm seriously wondering why he is still a VP to get this type of attention in the first place. He should have been put in prison 4 years ago.
