Just Say.... No?
I got asked an interesting question last night, now normally I try to keep these write ups general and not focused on individuals, today will not be one of those write ups. Before I get to the question I think I should fill you in on some of my background; I am a convicted felon, I was caught selling drugs A LOT of drugs, I got caught and tried and convicted. Even with that holding true I have always had this same opinion about this particular issue.
The question was: What do you think when you see the “Just Say No” commercials on television?
My answer was fairly summarized at the time, but the more I think about it the more I have to say on the subject. And so this article is born.
I think those commercials are a waste of tax dollars, yes I am currently gainfully employed, quite gainfully, and I do pay taxes. The people that should be listening to that commercial are laughing while they snort a line, light up a joint, heat up a spoon, or drop a tab. They don’t get it, they don’t care, and they aren’t listening. The target audience of those commercials winds up being kids, 13 and under, the ones that say “Daddy why do you smoke? It causes cancer.” You know I was that kid, at 8 I asked my father, and I hid his smokes, etc. then I hit 13 and lit up. I hit 17 and started selling acid and X, and later Cocaine and X and Weed. Those commercials are a waste. You want a solution to the drug issue in America?
You can do one of two things. And this Half Assed approach that civilized America (and a few other countries) is taking isn’t either one.
Option 1)
Stop calling it a “War on Drugs” and make it one. Don’t arrest drug dealers, shoot them on site. Make them dead, I don’t mean shoot them in the leg, I don’t mean let them bleed out… I mean kill them. Shoot them once to knock them down, then walk up and put two in the head. Dead. Found a fiend? Kill them. Make it Treasonous to use or distribute illegal narcotics. Take that money spent on commercials and give the military a bonus for every drug dealer they take out. A little video surveillance and a bullet will prove more effective than all the TV time in the world. Will this wind up with a few innocent people dead? Sure… but within a couple years there will be no more need.
Option 2)
Make drugs legal. Tax the hell out of them, and deny medical aid to anyone in an Over Dose condition. Don’t build treatment centers. Let the idiots kill themselves, they will you know. Stupid is defined as the inability to learn. Well Drugs kill people. Do them at your own risk.. let the morons die. And hope they don’t reproduce in the process. This method will take longer but eventually they will “sort themselves out.”
Even when I was doing some less than legal acts I held these opinions. Stop Half Assing it.. take care of your business… I take care of mine. I despise drug users, I refer to them as Fiends. I always have. I feel no pity for an adult (18 and up) who decides of their own free will to do drugs. It’s not my place to tell someone how to live their life. More specifically; I Don’t Care. Any way you look at it any thing less than those two options are a weak attempt to appease those who care. Any thing less is doomed to failure and is in place because of people who don’t understand the situation that believe that people are duped into the situation, or are weak and need help. If you are one of those people .. .go back to sleep, La La Land is waiting for you, but it’s not in this article.
Closing thought: Ignorance can be cured, but Stupid is forever.

Very interesting, I stumbled on this sight looking for a Google hit of "What is Socially acceptable" although I came across a few interesting sights I stopped to read yours, and to be honest I quite liked it. I’m sure after reading this article it wasn't your intention to impress anyone. But it’s very rare you read material on a controversial subject from an individual that actually know what he is talking about. Thanks for a intellectual break.
Well, let's think about this for a moment. If one is allowed to shoot an individual selling drugs, we'd have millions of selfish people shooting drug dealers for their money. We'd have people killing others for the sake of killing others. Human beings are not all good. They can find any way to make a seemingly good thing into a horrible thing, no matter what because we're human and we're flawed. Now, as for the waste on public tax dollars on those bogus commercials, I must agree it's a total waste because they're badly made and cliche. However, somebody somewhere must be watching it, and it might at least affect one life, and sometimes one life makes all the difference in the world.
As for making drugs illegal: Drinking is illegal for those younger than 21 years. That does not mean that individuals younger than 21 aren't drinking. They are. Why? Some like the very idea that they're not allowed to drink and they like to break the rules. Another point I'd like to make is that when an individuals like to drink in groups and if those younger than 21 drink too much, and have to go to hospital, quite possibly they'd die because people don't like to "get caught". Also, even if we made all drugs illegal, quite possibly it'd have the opposite effect and would instead make more individuals use drugs.
Not all people who do drugs are idiots or morons. Some use it as an escape, and while they use it as some form of pleasure, you can't blame them. Just like you think your life is miserable some days, their lives are also miserable and they can't afford to browse the internet and comment on the idiots using drugs because they can't afford a computer. I'm not saying they should use drugs, I'm just pointing out that some people just don't have an option.
